I am starting an additional publication each week that is designed to help you understand the Meditations in a more "Godly" way rather than the more typical "Worldly" way. I have named these the "Bottom Line" meditations. The current meditations will continue to be published on Tuesday and these new "Bottom Line" meditations will be published in the same blog the day before, on Monday. Read more
Pentecost XIII John 6:15, 56-69
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Aug 16, 2012
The wilderness was where revolts started and here were 5,000 men, a number symbolic of a revolutionary force, listening to Jesus' appealing message. His constant reference to the Kingdom, end times, and conflicts with the religious leaders was part of their manifesto. Read more
Follow Your Heart Part 11: The Power of Love
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Aug 14, 2012
This twelve part series is an attempt to make clear how to follow our heart by explaining an intangible concept!! There are two kinds of life, physical and spiritual. A person in good physical health tends to have good spiritual health. A person with poor physical health, such as cancer, still can have a high spiritual level. Many times a high spiritual level can raise one's physical health. Read more
Pentecost XII John 6:51-58
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Aug 09, 2012
Life is both physical and spiritual. Jesus is referring to spiritual life not physical life. We have been created to be in communion with God. When we are out of communion we are like a fish out of water. We are not bad, or guilty. We are just going to die spiritually. Out of the Presence we are our old self. In the Presence we are our real self. Read more

This twelve part series is an attempt to make clear how to follow our heart by explaining an intangible concept!! There are four spiritual gifts in the Presence: Peace, Love, Joy, and Wisdom. Read more
Pentecost XI John 6:24-35
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Aug 02, 2012
This scripture is a good example of the difference between rational and spiritual understanding. The rational could not understand how Jesus could be the Bread of life. For them, "bread" meant the "manna" that God gave during the Exodus. How could a person be bread? Jesus makes the compare and contrast difference. Read more
Follow Your Heart Part 9: Life Is A Good Feeling
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Jul 31, 2012
This twelve part series is an attempt to make clear how to follow our heart by explaining an intangible concept!! We are all looking for one thing in Life, for a good feeling. The word "good" has a root meaning "God." We are all looking to feel the Love of God. When we look to feel good rationally, what we think about the event creates our feeling. Life becomes conditional. Read more
Pentecost X John 6:24-35
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Jul 26, 2012
This parable demonstrates the principle of the difference between what you think rationally and how you think spiritually. The rational commentaries generally miss the fact that the feeding of the 5,000 is the Passover feast. The disciples who followed Jesus to Capernaum missed the sign of the previous feeding. It is not all that bad, as most theologians who comment on the incident missed the sign as well. Spiritually, this was not primarily about the feeding of the 5,000. It was Jesus instituting the Eucharist according to John. Read more
Follow Your Heart Part 8: The Wisdom of the Heart
Posted by Paul Edwards (Fr. Paul) on Jul 24, 2012
This twelve part series is an attempt to make clear how to follow our heart by explaining an intangible concept!! When we are "down and out", our rational head determines how we feel about the event. When we are "up and in", the feeling of the Presence creates the thought or the Wisdom in the event. Read more
