Worldly hears the rational with understanding in the head.

Godly hears consciously with spiritual understanding from the heart.

OLD TESTAMENT: Nehemiah 8:1-3, 5-6, 8-10

Worldly: All who could hear with understanding.
Godly: All who could hear from their heart with spiritual understanding.

Worldly sees the physically seen.

Godly senses the spiritually unseen.

PSALM: 19

Worldy: The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims His handiwork.
Godly: The heavens are spiritually telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims in our heart His handiwork (Heaven, spiritually, is here within us).

Worldly looks for physical union in the body.

Godly seeks spiritual unity in the body.

EPISTLE: 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

Worldy: All the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
Godly: All the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is spiritually with Christ.

Worldly hears what they believe.

Godly believes what they hear spiritually.

GOSPEL: Luke 4:4-21

Worldly: Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.
Godly: Today this scripture has been spiritually fulfilled in your hearing.
