Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost: Bottom Line Spirituality

Unlocking the Gospel Secrets of Spirituality

Discover what difference reading these scriptures while Thinking Leaglism or Feeling Grace can make.

The Grace Language of Jesus

SPIRITUALITY CAN CHANGE OUR LIFE

Jesus took legalistic words and gave them the grace meaning to consciously feel the difference being in the Presence of God in Him.

Legalism is idolatry, depending on something outside ourselves to get what God has already given to us inside our selves. Grace is self-correcting.

Romans 8:3 - For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son.

Never mistake legalism for grace. One wants you to make a living, the other helps you make a life!

Not sure how to apply these? Click here to read the introductory text for the new Bottom Line Meditations

Think Legalism: “Righteous” are those who are always right.

Feel Grace: “Righteous” are those who are in a right relationship with God.

OLD TESTAMENT: Habakkuk 1:1-4, 2:1-4

Think Legalism: the righteous live by their faith.
Feel Grace: the righteous live by their faith.

When Grace has your heart, God has you!

Think Legalism: “Trust” comes from our ability to trust the Lord no matter what.

Feel Grace: “Trust” comes from our ability to feel the Love and Trust that is in the Lord.

PSALM: 37:1-9

Think Legalism: Trust in the LORD.
Feel Grace: Trust in the LORD.

When you forgive you in no way change the past, but you sure do change the future!

Think Legalism: “Rekindle” is something we do physically.

Feel Grace: “Rekindle” is something we do consciously to feel His Presence in us.

EPISTLE: 2 Timothy 1:1-14

Think Legalism: Rekindle the gift of God that is within you.
Feel Grace: Rekindle the gift of God that is within you.

Don't let your legalism in the past kidnap your future in His grace!

Think Legalism: “Worthless” means we have no worth.

Feel Grace: “Worthless” means we cannot buy the grace of God.

GOSPEL: Luke 17:5-10

Think Legalism: We are worthless slaves.
Feel Grace: We are worthless slaves.

Letting go of legalism is very different than giving up!
