The Season of Lent is an opportunity to strengthen our spiritual abilities to look within ourselves. These exercises can help us discover the different meaning looking at the same scripture from the spiritual side can make.

Worldly thoughts create our feelings about events.

Godly thoughts are created by our feelings of the Presence in the event.

OLD TESTAMENT: Isaiah 55:1-9

Worldly: My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,
Godly: My spiritual thoughts are not your rational thoughts, nor are your human ways my spiritual ways.

Worldly soul joyfully praises when it is satisfied with the physical feast.

Godly soul joyfully praises because it is satisfied with the spiritual feast.

PSALM: 63:1-8

Worldy: My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast, and my mouth praises you with joyful lips.
Godly: My soul is spiritually satisfied as with a rich feast, and so my mouth praises you with joyful lips.

Worldly way out is to avoid the testing.

Godly way out is to spiritually go through the testing.

EPISTLE: 1 Corinthians 10:1-13

Worldy: with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
Godly: with the testing he will also provide the spiritual way out so that you may be able to endure it.

Worldly repentance is to confess sins to change their life.

Godly repentance is to change their life to confess their sins.

GOSPEL: Luke 13:1-9

Worldly: unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
Godly: unless you repent spiritually, you will all perish as they did.
