Fifth Sunday in Lent

Unlocking the Gospel Secrets of Spirituality

Discover what difference reading these scriptures while Thinking Legalism or Feeling Grace can make.

The Grace Language of Jesus

SPIRITUALITY CAN CHANGE OUR LIFE

Jesus spoke a foreign language. He took literal words the legalist understood and gave them a new spiritual meaning.

Literal religious words are beliefs that are conditional, exclusive and for special groups. Spiritual grace words are experiences that are inclusive, unconditional and for all.

Legalism thinks all truth is literal. Grace knows the difference between literal and spiritual truth.

Legalism already has their mind set. Grace has their heart open.

Do the math, one legalist talking to another one equals one.

OLD TESTAMENT: Ezekiel 37:1-14

Literal Religion: “The Word of the Lord” is following the Law.

Read this scripture literally for its religious meaning.

“O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.”

Spiritual grace: “The Word of the Lord” means loving others in the Love of Jesus.

Now quietly move into God's Presence and read this scripture again.

“O dry bones, hear the Word of the LORD.”

Did you feel the Grace?

Grace is being able to raise your eyebrow instead of your voice!

PSALM: 130:1-8

Literal Religion: “Hope” is depending on God to do for us what we want.

Read this scripture literally for its religious meaning.

“in His word I hope”

Spiritual grace: “Hope” is how we feel in His Presence. No matter what happens we never know what God will do next.

Now quietly move into God's Presence and read this scripture again.

“in His Word I hope”

Did you feel the Grace?

Legalists have the right to remain silent, but they do not have the ability!

EPISTLE: Romans 8:6-11

Literal Religion: “To set the mind” is to think about the Spirit rationally.

Read this scripture literally for its religious meaning.

“To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Spiritual grace: “To set the mind” is to experience the Spirit consciously.

Now quietly move into God's Presence and read this scripture again.

“To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is Life and Peace”

Did you feel the Grace?

Legalism is hanging oneself with a bungee cord!

GOSPEL: John 11:1-45

Literal Religion: “I am the resurrection.” Believes He will be the resurrection at death.

Read this scripture literally for its religious meaning.

“I am the Resurrection and the Life.”

Spiritual grace: “I am the resurrection.” means He is the resurrection right now.

Now quietly move into God's Presence and read this scripture again.

“I am the Resurrection and the Life.”

Did you feel the Grace?

Legalism is like half the money is spent buying the law, and the other half is spent trying to lose guilt.
